5 Essential Oils for Headaches and Migraines

As our day-to-day stress increases, so does the problem of headache and migraine. But instead of drinking cups of tea or taking pain relievers, we have a more natural and aromatic alternative: essential oils for headaches!

Essential oils are concentrated extracts from plants that are beneficial to our health and basically capture the “essence” of these plants from their aroma to their health benefits. “One of the best uses for essential oils, regardless of your preferred method, is headache relief. If you have severe migraines or a pounding headache, inhaling essential oils may be the essential solution for you,” says Ayurveda Expert Dr Chaitali Deshmukh says.

How Does Smelling Essential Oil Relieve Headaches?

1. Lavender Oil

2. Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil is derived from the peppermint plant which is commonly found in Europe and North America. Dr. Deshmukh suggests, “The menthol in peppermint oil can help reduce the tension and discomfort associated with headaches as well as make you feel calmer and more relaxed. If you experience headaches due to allergies or congestion If so, peppermint oil can help clear the sinuses and reduce symptoms.

3. Lemon Oil

This oil extracted from lemon peels can do wonders for your migraine problem. Dr Deshmukh says, “When someone has some sort of tension or headache, yet wants to wake up, lemon oil can be used to improve their spirits as well as calm the mind “

4. Chamomile Oil

You’ve probably heard of chamomile tea’s association with relaxation, so it’s because the oil can be used in the same way. Dr. Deshmukh tells Health Shots, “As a result of its ability to relax muscles, chamomile may help reduce tension related to headaches. Roman chamomile also has anti-inflammatory properties and can help reduce stress and anxiety. can help.”

5. Rosemary Oil

Rosemary oil is not only good for your hair. The stimulating properties of rosemary oil are similar to those of eucalyptus or peppermint oil. It can be beneficial for headache as it is also believed to help reduce pain.
