Katy Perry is ready to start work on her new album.
The “Roar” hitmaker – who released her sixth record “Smile” in 2020 – has been focusing on her ongoing Las Vegas residency since December 2021, but has some big plans when the run ends.
Appearing on ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’, she said: “I’ll probably go and make another record soon and write it and tour the world after that, which will be so great.”
The 37-year-old star admitted that she has a “personality” when she takes to the stage for the “Katy Perry: Play” show at the Resorts World Theater, and that she takes “a lot of that energy” for her live shows. “Saves.
She explained: “I think, obviously, there’s an onstage personality. And I save that energy to be on stage and I dial it up.
“I really love this show that I put on. It’s my favorite show, it’s bringing the most joy.”
Meanwhile, Katy explained that she “doesn’t talk a lot offstage” because she prefers to wait until she turns things around “until 11” in front of a live crowd.
She continued: “I’m pretty, like, even off stage. I’m more, like, businesswoman; I don’t talk too much off stage… I’m very, kind, I am a supervisor.
“I really save my energy when I have to go and turn it on. ‘Cause when I turn it on, it’s up to 11, girl.”
The “I Kissed a Girl” singer recently elaborated on her plans to get the show on the road after her residency ends.
She said: “I have songs that can be put on a big show, which can be enjoyed by people between the ages of eight and 80.
“Those songs have taken me everywhere around the world, and I’ve toured the world three times.
“So I know I need to go back because the world is constantly changing, and there are new fans every day.”
