The money LIV golfers make leaving the PGA Tour to join upstart leagues is staggering.
Several players have reportedly been paid hefty signing bonuses to join LIV Golf, resulting in their Suspension from PGA Tour events,

The tournament will be played at the Trump National Doral Miami in late October, and golfers will compete for a $50 million purse, according to ESPN.
The prize for the first-place team will be $16 million, with 12 four-man teams competing for the top prize. Second place will receive a prize of $10 million, third place $8 million and fourth place $4 million.

The format of the team championship event is also making waves.

Following a draft that would determine each of the twelve teams, seeding for the tournament would be decided by a “closest pin-style shootout”.
“Each team competing in the Team Series Championship will be ranked and seeded from one (1) to twelve (12), based on a shootout made immediately after the Player Draft prior to the Team Series Championship, with each team captain having one (1) The shot shall be to hit toward a target in a ‘nearest pin’-style shootout,” the LIV Rules and Regulations of Golf state.

,[T]The team whose team captain’s shot ends closest to the goal will be designated as the first (first) seeding and each remaining team will be seeded based on the proximity of each other’s goal to the team captain’s shot.”
