Retired NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has a theory: She’s the ‘mother f—er’ Tom Brady referenced during HBO’s “The Shop” in 2021.
Brady was on the show discussing his 2020 free agency and how he’ll end up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But during that explanation, Brady said a willing team was going with someone else, to which he said, “You’re sticking with that mother—er?”
Fitzpatrick spoke on ESPN’s “The Dan Le Batard Show,” claiming he was the man with the Miami Dolphins.

“I think I still am. I feel like I’m still that man,” he said. “If you go back to that … before the 2019 season when the Dolphins are trying to assemble a roster that’s going to help them pick a better draft next year, it’s not like there’s one for Tom. Fascinating situation was about to happen. Anyway. So, I’m not sure why he was so upset about it, but I still believe I am that mother—er.”

The Dolphins were a team involved in the Brady Sweepstakes, so much so that former head coach Brian Flores alleged that Miami molested Brady several times in an attempt to play for him. He even stated that Miami wanted him to be a minority owner of the franchise.
Miami was fined for molestation when it was found that they attempted to get Brady and former Saints head coach Sean Payton into the Dolphins.
Flores filed a lawsuit against the Dolphins, among other teams and the league. There were also the Las Vegas Raiders as a possible flirt, as UFC President Dana White alleged that they had plans to bring Brady and tight end Rob Gronkowski to Sin City.
Either way, the Dolphins finished with a 10-6 record during the 2020 season, with Fitzpatrick starting seven of 16 games, while rookie Tua Tagovailoa, who remains a starter in Miami today, started the rest.

Fitzpatrick ended up with a nickname he doesn’t mind any worse than Brady.
“I tried to make my wife some T-shirts so I could wear them. We were just trying to figure out with all the kids which letters to blank out,” he joked.
Brady made the right decision, joining the Bux and leading them to a Super Bowl victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

Fitzpatrick retired in June after 17 NFL seasons, saying he was “always grateful for the magical ride.” Part of that ride kept Brady out of South Beach.
