Rosemont, IL. US Foods Holding Corp. is investing $71.6 million to build a new distribution center in McClellan, Calif. The feature will allow the company to more efficiently serve its independent restaurant customers in Northern California, US Foods said.
The 355,000-square-foot facility will house food service products as well as meat cutting facilities and fleet maintenance operations. Construction of the LEED-certified facility is expected to begin in mid-2019 and open in late 2020.
“The expansion of the US Foods footprint in Sacramento is a significant investment as we continue to serve independent restaurant operators throughout the region,” said Bernie Orsini, Northern California region president at US Foods. “We look forward to increasing efficiencies as we continue to execute on our ‘Great Food.’ Made easy.’ strategy.”
